I want to talk a minute about marketing your products. When marketing your products, there are a few things you should know. Here are a few questions you can ask yourself.
Who is Your Target Audience?
Where to find Your Target Audience?
How to get Targeted Traffic to your Products?
What kind of Competition do I have?
Who are you Marketing your Products to?
Lets tak a look at the first question, (Who is your target audience?) Lets say your products are young woman's hand bags. You can make a list of your target audience by age group and gender. This weeds out a lot of people who would almost never buy a young woman's hand bag. So your target audience would be Females between the age of 18 and 30. Keep in mind I know nothing about young women's hand bags, so this age group I came up with is just a wild guess. But you can see that this is a very targeted audience. This is very important when "marketing your products".

Where to Find Your Target Audience When Marketing Your Products.
Now lets try to figure out where to find your target audience. You would not want to be "marketing your products" where a bunch of old men are discussing what kind of golf clubs they use. Instead you would want to find out where women between the ages of 18 and 30 are hanging out. Somewhere online maybe, like some popular social media sites, or in a popular fashion magazine.
How to Get Traffic when Marketing Your Products
When you are (marketing your products), you will want to drive traffic to your store or website so that they can purchase the products you are offering. There are a number of ways to do this. If you have a store then you would obviously be getting foot traffic or drive by traffic, but if your store is online then how do you bring eyes to your site. Keywords are a good start. You can find out what search terms are being used when your targeted audience is doing an online search. For instance, woman's hand bags, leather hand bags, designer hand bags, these are all keywords that are used to search for hand bags. Now that you have a few keywords, you can now decide wether you want to use free traffic techniques or paid traffic when [marketing your products]. Paid traffic is a fast way to get results when marketing your products. Free traffic is worth the effort but may tend to take a little longer to work. A good mix of both is a great way to get started. Some paid traffic options are Google Adwords, or Bing Ads, and free traffic can range from social media sites to YouTube videos or a blog.
How to go About Marketing Your Products Against Your Competition
Another good marketing strategy, is to know what kind of competition you are up against. A good way to find this information is to use a tool called Google Keywords Tool. This can be used to see how much traffic your keywords are getting and if the competition is High, Medium or low. You can also use Google Analytics to see how much traffic your website is getting.
